The first screen that shows is setting your personal information: Name, gender, date of birth, height and weight. These values are important in calculating your basal metabolism and determining your daily caloric intake, so be honest! Valid ages are from 18 to 115. When you have your information in, press 'Add' to continue setup.

The next screen is the Goals page. The page displays your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), Activity Level , current weight, calories to maintain weight, and options to set goals for weight loss and time for the weight loss.

On here select your activity level: Sedentary, Lightly Active, Moderately Active, Very Active and Extremely Active. Here's how each of the categories are defined.

Sedentary
Lightly active (1-3 days per week)
Moderately active(3-5 days per week)
Very Active (6-7 days per week)
Extremely Active(twice per day, extra heavy workouts)

We use the Harris-Benedict equation for calculating the BMR and calories need to maintain weight. To find out more about the equation, please see this page on link Harris-Benedict Principle.

When you have added in your information press 'Add'.

The last page provides the option to set a LivedID to sync your information with link HealthVault. This feature is currently disabled but will be enabled soon. LivedID verification does work so if you want to check your ID, please enter your LiveID and password and press the check ID button. Otherwise just press 'Add' to finish your setup.

And with that, you're setup!
